Lutz Wilhelmy said: "I feel honoured to represent this great organisation of volunteers as Chairperson. Our European societies face many challenges. From the war returning to Europe over COVID-19 becoming epidemic, growing fragmentation and fragility within and across societies, the return of inflation, responsible digitalisation and AI, sustainability including but not limited to climate change, the implementation of IFRS17 accounting standard, to the developments in EU regulations: all that affects our private and professional life. Being the representative of the European actuaries, it is my aim to facilitate the profession's contribution to finding the best solutions in this complex environment. I look forward to collaborate with all my volunteering fellow-actuaries, our Member Associations, the European Commission, members of the European Parliament, EIOPA and other stakeholders to address the challenges ahead.“
Mária Kamenárová, the Immediate Past Chairperson, said: "Lutz has been very active in the actuarial community in Europe and has worked in many areas concerning the development of our profession especially focused on solvency, responsible digitalisation, sustainability, fit and proper and much more. I am delighted to contribute next year under his chairpersonship which will further develop our organization."
